Marysia Lewandowska’s unique, private virtual studio visit will run approximately 1 hour. The visit will consist of the following:
Teleconference into Lewandowska’s studio. She will discuss her work, such as upcoming, current and past exhibitions and projects, and some influences related to her artistic practice, conceptual framework and process.
Lewandowska will discuss any number of recent projects. She is interested to both present and respond to visitors’ own questions throughout the seminar.
The discussion can also revolve around her work in archives related to her 2019 Venice Biennale installation, It’s About Time. Topics may include:
-The artistic labour and organisational structures needed to realise such a project
-Negotiations with various stakeholders
-How through her collaboration with a network of individuals and institutions, her conceptual work takes on material form
-A site is not constituted through production, but how it facilitates specific associations and ideas
-How to build an archive and why
-How to intervene into the mechanisms of value creation while working with institutions
